In Sweden there is a city called Malmo.
In the summer they program their trash cans to talk. They say “thank you” and other encouraging words when people use the trash can.
Far away on the Texas beaches between Padre Island and Matagorda mysterious dolls washed ashore polluting the beaches. These dolls were picked up by Mission-Aransas National Reserve an organization devoted to keeping Texas beaches clean.
On a segment from John Oliver’s show Last Week Tonight, John offers the Mission Aransas a $10, 000 donation to take the dolls and have them recycled at a recycling plant named after himself in Australia. BUT the Australian recycling plant could not recycle the type of plastic the dolls were made from.
What to do with the dolls? The town of Malmo Sweden offered to dispose of them through their talking trash cans. But they reprogramed the trash cans to say “”Welcome to Malmo, you Texas beach mistake,” and “Rest easy now garbage babies, your demon days are over.”
