Draylen Mason Studio at KMFA (41 Navasota St.) The Vistas program includes “Cardinal Craig”, inspired by a particularly vocal neighborhood cardinal; “Two Nabokov Pieces”, neo-romantic character sketches drawn from Vladimir Nabokov’s literary world; “Vistas”, a reflective commission that serves as the concert’s centerpiece; and “The Trees are Talking”, a suite of pieces inspired by native Texas trees imagined as if they could speak. University of Texas Football – UT vs Arkansas Nov 22 (Sat) Flex (2:30-3:30 p.m. or 5-7 p.m. CT) D.K.R. Memorial Stadium. Austin Empty Bowl Project – November 23, Central Texas Food Bank

(6500 Metropolis Dr). This beloved yearly tradition returns — mark your calendar to join us for a day of handcrafted ceramics, tasty soup, live music, and fun for the whole family. The Austin Empty Bowl Project is an effort by Austin area potters to fight hunger. Always the Sunday before Thanksgiving, this annual event donates all proceeds to Kids Cafe, a program of the Central Texas Food Bank, and Meals for Kids, a program of Meals on Wheels Central Texas. Take the bowl home with you to remind you that others have empty bowls.

Potters from all over Central Texas donate bowls of all sizes, shapes, and colors. Thirty restaurants and bakeries donate delicious soups and breads, while musicians donate their time and talent to entertain us. Then, on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, friends and families come together to purchase a bowl for $30, have it filled with soup, and enjoy the music. The bowl is yours to keep, as a reminder of those whose bowls are empty. The proceeds go to Meals on Wheels Central Texas’ Meals for Kids, and the Central Texas Food Bank to help sponsor the Kids Cafe Program. Holidays at the Paramount: ‘Elf’ Pub Run and Screening, December 02, 2025 5:30 pm, The Paramount Theatre (713 Congress Ave.) The Paramount Theatre will host its annual Elf Pub Run on Dec. 2, combining festive fitness, holiday cheer, and a screening of the classic comedy “Elf.” Participants will depart from the Paramount at 5:30 p.m. for a 0.8-mile run to Scholz Garten before returning to the theater for the film screening at 8 p.m. The evening will feature caroling, a costume contest, and plenty of elf-inspired antics, with prizes awarded before the movie begins.

Beyond Art Market & Fair, Saturday, December 6 & Sunday, December 7, Art Spark Texas Headquarters (1152 San Bernard St.) Art Spark Texas reimagines its traditional holiday market with the debut of the Beyond Art Market & Fair—a two-day indoor/outdoor showcase featuring artists with disabilities, live music, food and community happening Dec. 6 and 7.

In addition to spotlighting artists with disabilities, this year’s market also honors the Black Cultural District Art Spark Texas calls home. Located in the very building where Six Square was first founded, the event will highlight local Black artists and celebrate the creativity and heritage rooted in East Austin. The Beyond Art Market & Fair brings the community together to support local art while offering joyful experiences including live music, pop-ups, food and interactive art activities.

“Beyond Art Market & Fair reflects our commitment to creating inclusive spaces where artists of all backgrounds can shine,” said Celia Hughes, executive director of Art Spark Texas. “By expanding our annual market, we’re celebrating not only the artistry of individuals with disabilities but also the cultural richness of the Black community that surrounds and sustains us.”

This year’s expanded celebration also highlights the historic neighborhood Art Spark Texas calls home. The market honors the legacy of the Six Square Black Cultural District, where Art Spark’s headquarters are located in one of the district’s cornerstone buildings.
