Fort McKavett in West Texas is inactive today. It was one of the forts built by the Texas government as a safe space and point of protection for pioneers beginning in 1852. There was no Indian action though in that area. Therefore, if you visit you will find MANT stone buildings which is what the soldiers did with their free time.
